Islamabad: The government and opposition have started consultation over an appointment of Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
The opposition leader in National Assembly (NA) Raja Riyaz called on Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Friday.
The three names came under discussion for the post of the Chairman NAB which included former bureaucrat Fawad Hussain Fawad, former chairman NAB Qamar Uzaman and former Director General (DG) Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Bashir Memon.
Sources said that the government has decided to appoint former bureaucrat as Chairman NAB instead of any retired judge.
The PM and the Opposition leader agreed to consult their allied parties over the proposed three names for the Chairman NAB.
Raja Riyaz in this regard said that we will appoint Chairman NAB before June 2 adding that no names have been finalized yet while all the proposed names are respectable personalities.
