Three women dead, man found unconscious in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal

KARACHI: The bodies of three women and an unconscious man were discovered on Sunday evening in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Block 1, prompting a police investigation:

As per detail, Law enforcement officials rushed to the scene and began initial inquiries. The deceased women have been identified as 52-year-old Samina, 22-year-old Maha, and 19-year-old Samreen. The man, identified as Yaseen, was found in an unconscious condition and was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

According to police, preliminary evidence suggests that all four individuals may have been administered a toxic substance. Further investigations are underway to determine the exact cause and circumstances of the incident.

Earlier the same day, two young men lost their lives in a traffic accident near I.I. Chundrigar Road, one of Karachi’s busiest commercial areas. Authorities said a speeding car struck their motorcycle, killing one rider on the spot, while the second died later at a hospital.

The victims were identified as Murtaza and Ali, friends from Lyari. Family members said they had gone out after dinner on the motorcycle. Ali was associated with the printing business. After legal formalities, the bodies were handed over to their families.

In a separate development in Lahore, three alleged criminals were killed during purported police encounters in the areas of Solelines, Chowkhang, and Iqbal Town.

Police identified the suspects as Asif, Asghar, and Usman, stating they were involved in narcotics trade. Officials claimed the suspects opened fire during a transfer attempt, while no police personnel were injured. The bodies were later shifted to a hospital.

Meanwhile, on December 5, a food delivery rider was fatally struck by a speeding trailer near Karimabad Bridge in Karachi. Rescue officials identified the victim as 27-year-old Shabbir. The trailer driver was taken into custody, and the vehicle was seized. After completion of medico-legal procedures, the body was released to the family.

Residents have voiced serious concerns over the unrestricted movement of heavy vehicles in the city and have urged authorities to implement stricter safety regulations to avoid further loss of lives.
