KARACHI: Today is the last date for exchanging old design currency notes from banks, as after today the old design currency notes will be no more legal tender.
According to State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the deadline to exchange the old design currency notes of Rs10, Rs50, Rs 100 and Rs 100 denominations will expire on Non 30, (today).
It said that the old design currency notes of above mentioned denomination will cease to be legal tender on December 01, 2016. However, last day to exchange all such banknotes from SBP BSC field offices is December 31, 2021.
As per Federal Government’s Gazette Notification dated June 04, 2015, the old design banknotes will cease to be legal tender with effect from December 01, 2016.
