LAHORE: The Punjab government has decided to confer a top civil award on Assistant Commissioner (AC) Pattoki, Furqan Ahmed Khan, who tragically passed away during flood relief operations.
Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has also approved a financial grant of PKR 10 million for the family of the late officer.
Despite battling cancer, Furqan Ahmed Khan had been on continuous duty for four days in flood-affected areas of Pattoki.
He remained actively engaged in rescue and relief efforts, providing food, medicines, and essential supplies to flood victims.
Paying tribute to his dedication, CM Maryam Nawaz hailed the late AC as a “true hero” who sacrificed his life while serving the people in the most challenging circumstances. She said his commitment and sense of duty will always be remembered.
is noteworthy that Assistant Commissioner Furqan Ahmed Khan suffered a fatal heart attack yesterday (Sunday) while on duty during the relief operation.
