Transgenders Stand Against Census

Lahore (September 25, 2017): Transgender community again rejected the number of transgender shown in the latest census.

In a press conference, carried out in Lahore, the local transgender representative voiced for their rights and categorically stated that they reject recent census.

Numbers shown in the census is a mockery. Transgender demanded the act passed by assembly for their rights should be made effective immediately and in this process their community should be taken on board.As per the provisional summary of the results of the 6th Population and Housing Census, released by the Pakistan bureau of statistics, the country’s transgender population stands at 10,418 – 0.005% of the total population of over 207 million.
