Trudeau wraps tenure after nine years in office

Canada is bracing for an extended period of tension in its trade relations with the United States, as former President Donald Trump has frequently voiced intentions of annexing Canada, stirring significant outrage and uncertainty within the nation.

In a significant political shift, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau officially stepped down on Friday, paving the way for Mark Carney, the new Liberal Party leader, to assume leadership of the country. Political analysts suggest that Trudeau’s approach to handling the recent turmoil will leave a lasting positive impression.

“His exit was marked by exceptional leadership,” noted Charles-Étienne Beaudry, a political science professor at the University of Ottawa.

“He dedicated himself to addressing the threats posed by Trump’s tariffs, effectively communicating with the Canadian public, delivering powerful speeches, and orchestrating a cohesive national response,”

Beaudry remarked in an interview with an International Media.
