WASHINGTON: U.S. President Donald Trump thanked Pakistan for its help in capturing the terrorist involved in the Kabul airport bombing.
In his address to the U.S. Congress, President Donald Trump expressed his gratitude to Pakistan for its role in capturing the mastermind behind the ISIS-K attack at the Kabul airport in 2021, which resulted in the tragic loss of 13 American soldiers during the withdrawal from Afghanistan under the Biden administration.
“Three and a half years ago, ISIS terrorists killed 13 American service members and countless others in the Abbey Gate bombing,” Trump said during his speech to a joint session of Congress.
“Tonight, I am pleased to announce that we have just apprehended the top terrorist responsible for that atrocity,” the president revealed. “And he is right now on his way here to face the swift sword of American justice.”
Trump expressed gratitude to the Pakistani authorities for their role in capturing the “monster,” calling it “a significant day” for Gold Star families impacted by the attack.
