Trump delayed ban on ‘TikTok’ for 75 days in United States

WASHINGTON: Hours after being sworn in as the 47th President of United States Donald Trump signed a series of executive orders including delay a ban on the Chinese-owned app ‘TikTok’ by 75 days.

Among his first actions, he pardoned individuals convicted in the 2021 Capitol Hill riots, withdrew the U.S. from the Paris Climate Agreement, and delayed a ban on the Chinese-owned app TikTok by 75 days.

The signing of eight executive orders took place in front of a cheering crowd at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., with Trump dramatically showcasing his signature before tossing pens into the audience.

The remaining orders were finalized later in the Oval Office.

“We’re going to revoke nearly 80 destructive and radical executive actions of the previous administration,” Trump told supporters, describing the Biden administration as “one of the worst in history.”
