Trump refrain Israel for further strikes on Iran’s energy infrastructure

WASHINGTON: U.S. President Donald Trump has reportedly urged Israel to refrain from carrying out further strikes on Iran’s energy infrastructure.

according to a report by The Wall Street Journal. Trump said that a clear message had already been conveyed to Iran, and additional attacks on energy facilities were not necessary at this stage.

The report stated that Israel targeted Iran’s South Pars Gas Field on Wednesday. The field is one of the largest natural gas reserves in the world and a key source of Iran’s energy supply. While Trump was aware of the planned strike in advance, his position is not final. He may support further action against Iranian energy facilities if Iran escalates tensions, particularly in the Strait of Hormuz.

Following the attack on South Pars, Iran declared that oil installations across the region linked to U.S. companies could become potential targets. In line with this warning, Iran launched a missile strike on Ras Laffan Industrial City in Qatar, which resulted in a fire.

According to QatarEnergy, there were no casualties or significant financial losses from the attack. Qatar strongly condemned the strike, calling it a dangerous escalation and a clear violation of its sovereignty.
