Trump signs multibillion-dollar deals with Qatar

DOHA : U.S President Donald Trump and Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani have inked a series of agreements anticipated to produce over $1.2 trillion in economic activity.

The White House has announced that, Trump and Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani signed agreements projected to generate at least $1.2 trillion in economic exchange. The agreements encompass a $96 billion deal with Qatar Airways to purchase up to 210 Boeing 787 Dreamliner and 777X aircraft, signaling a major boost for U.S. aerospace exports.

Additionally, the two leaders issued a statement of intent for $38 billion in investments at Qatar’s Al Udeid Airbase and other air defense facilities, underscoring deepening military cooperation.

In a separate diplomatic development, officials from the United States, Turkey, and Syria are scheduled to meet later today to discuss the recent announcement by President Trump to lift sanctions against Syria, aiming to facilitate dialogue on regional stability.

U.S President Donald Trump received a grand welcome upon arriving in Qatar on the second leg of his Middle East tour, following his departure from Saudi Arabia on Wednesday. The visit highlighted significant economic and strategic commitments between the United States and Qatar.

Trump’s tour will conclude in the United Arab Emirates on Thursday, emphasizing broader regional engagement amid ongoing geopolitical shifts.
