Trump warns Iran: ‘Entire civilization at risk tonight’ amid escalating deadlines

WASHINGTON: U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a chilling warning to Iran, claiming that an “entire civilization” could be wiped out tonight, bringing to an end 47 years of violence, corruption, and casualties.

Trump shared his warning on his social media platform, Truth Social, describing the potential destruction as irreversible. He added that while he does not desire such an outcome, it could become unavoidable.

At the same time, he suggested that a “complete regime change” favoring more pragmatic and less extremist leadership could usher in a transformative moment for the region.

“This may be one of the most significant moments in world history,” Trump wrote, offering blessings to the Iranian people. He also indicated that a response from Tehran could come by 8 PM tonight.

The announcement comes as a deadline set by Trump in the ongoing Iran conflict is set to expire at 5 AM Pakistan Standard Time.

Trump’s Series of Deadlines

Trump has repeatedly set strict timelines for Iran in recent weeks. His first 48-hour ultimatum, issued on March 21, warned of strikes on Iranian power plants if the Strait of Hormuz remained closed.

Two days later, he postponed the attacks by five days, citing “productive discussions” with global partners. On March 27, another 10-day delay was announced, extending the deadline to April 6. On April 3, Trump issued a fresh 48-hour warning for Tehran to negotiate a deal.

Most recently, on April 5, Trump reaffirmed his threats in a social media post, declaring Tuesday as “power plant and bridge day,” later specifying 8 PM Eastern Time as the target.

These repeated deadlines underscore growing tensions as the U.S. continues to pressure Iran over regional security, energy infrastructure, and control of strategic waterways.
