RAWALPINDI: An army major and a soldier lost their lives during a military operation in Mastung district of Baluchistan, announced the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday.
According to the military’s media wing, the incident occurred on Wednesday while security forces were executing an intelligence-led raid based on intelligence about terrorists affiliated with the Indian-backed group, Fitna al-Hindustan.
During the operation, Pakistani troops engaged the terrorists effectively, resulting in the elimination of three militants. In the fierce exchange of fire, Major Zeeyyad Salim Awal, aged 31 and a resident of Khushab, displayed exemplary bravery by leading from the front and fighting valiantly before succumbing to his injuries and embracing martyrdom.
Additionally, Sepoy Nazam Hussain, aged 22 from Jhelum district, also made the ultimate sacrifice. The military continues a sanitization effort in the area to root out any remaining Indian-sponsored terrorists. Pakistan’s security forces reaffirm their commitment to eradicating terrorism fueled by Indian support, and they pay homage to the sacrifices of their brave soldiers, which further reinforce their determination to safeguard the nation.
