ABU DHABI: The United Arab Emirates has firmly stated that it will prevent its airspace from being exploited for any military strikes against Iran.
During a press conference, Reem Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation, declared that the nation will take all necessary measures to keep its airspace secure from any offensive operations targeting Iran. She emphasized that Iran’s ballistic missile capabilities represent a serious threat to regional stability, and the UAE has the sovereign right to defend itself against such threats.
Al Hashimy also underscored that military confrontation is not the preferred approach, warning that further escalation could lead to devastating consequences for the region. In response to recent Iranian assaults, the UAE has closed its embassy in Tehran and withdrawn its diplomatic staff.
Additionally, senior military officials in Abu Dhabi have announced that the country is now in a state of war readiness. A Defence Ministry spokesperson affirmed that the UAE armed forces are prepared for all eventualities and emphasized that there will be no concessions regarding national sovereignty and security.
