WEB DESK: The UK High Court has mandated Adil Raja to pay £50,000 in libel damages to Rashid Naseer, alongside an interim costs payment of £260,000 and full legal expenses.
The ruling found that Raja had leveled defamatory accusations against Mr. Naseer in June 2022, without any valid legal defence.
In addition, Raja is ordered to issue a Court-approved apology for the judgment across all his media platforms and ensure it remains prominently displayed for 28 days.
A stringent injunction has been enforced, prohibiting Raja from repeating or insinuating various allegations against Mr. Naseer, including those concerning the 2022 Punjab elections, meetings, electoral tampering, abuse of power, corruption, or intimidation.
The Court cautioned that failure to adhere to the order could result in contempt proceedings, potentially leading to fines or imprisonment.
The deadline for paying damages and interim costs is set for 22 December 2025.
