UN Condemns Human Rights Violation In Myanmar And Syria

Web Desk (November 17, 2018): The Third Committee of the UN General Assembly has approved thirteen resolutions including expressing concern on human rights situation in Myanmar and Syria.

A draft resolution on human rights in Syria condemned the indiscriminate and disproportionate attacks in civilian areas and demand that Syrian authorities immediately end all attacks on their own people.

The Committee also condemned the human rights violations in Myanmar and called for an independent investigation into them.

Introducing the draft on behalf of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Turkey’s delegate pressed Myanmar to end the vicious cycle of violence against the Rohingya.
