The United Nations Security Council has approved a resolution prepared by the United States to mark the completion of three years of the Russia-Ukraine war.

According to a report from the foreign news agency, voting took place on Monday at the United Nations regarding a joint resolution by Ukraine and the European Union, as well as a separate resolution by the United States.

Later, Russia vetoed the European attempt to amend the U.S. resolution regarding Ukraine in the Security Council.

The American agreement states that there should be an immediate resolution to the conflict and a lasting peace established between Ukraine and Russia. The central role of the United Nations is to facilitate global peace and the resolution of conflicts.

The resolution did not label Russia as an aggressor, but rather referred to the situation as a conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The resolution expressed sorrow over the casualties that occurred during the conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine.

According to the report, U.S. President Donald Trump is making efforts to mediate for peace. So far, the 15-member council has been unable to take any action on the dispute because Russia is a veto power.
