KARACHI: Unknown armed men gunned down two policemen at Korangi Industrial Area Causeway and took away two alleged target killers being transferred to a police station.
As per details, police was transferring two alleged target killers Qayum and Abdul Malik to Korangi Police stations in a police mobile after producing them before an Anti-Terrorism Court.
Investigation Officer of the case Abid Jokhio was driving the mobile while two constables Rafiq and Daam were sitting at rear seats’ of the mobile along with the accused.
When the mobile reached Korangi Causeway, unknown armed men intercepted it and opened indiscriminate firing on the mobile.
As a result, both the constable died on the spot. The attackers fled away along with the target killers. The IO, who was driving the mobile, could not resist the attackers.
Acording to Investigation Officer, the assailants after killing the policemen snatched a motorcycle from a passerby and fled. He said that the slain policemen were deployed at Korangi Police Station.
According to him, the target killers, who were taken away by the assailants, are involved in killing of a policeman Yousuf Lodhi.
