US ambassador calls on Finance Minister M Aurangzeb to discuss trade and financial matters

Islamabad: The USA ambassador to Pakistan Donald Bloom on Monday called on Federal Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb, according to the press release issued after the meeting.

The US ambassador and the Finance Minister discussed Pakistan-America trade and financial matters.

The Federal Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb apprised the American ambassador about the reforms brought to the economy of the country.

Both the leaders agreed to work together on technical and development work in the country.

The Finance Minister urged the two countries of long duration mutual relations. While Muhammad Aurangzeb apprised the US ambassador about the successful completion of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) program.

He apprised that we wanted to forward reforms under the stand by arrangment while the government involved in another loan program the IMF.

The Minister highlighted the government prefrential reforms fields adding that we will tax to GDP ratio will be increased through the digitization.

He informed that the extention in tax net and tax management are included in the reforms.

The Minister reitreated the PM commitment for the privitization while the country and foreign investors have showed their intrest in the government carier Pakistan Internatioanl Airlines (PIA).

Muhammad Aurangzeb also apprised the USA ambassador about reforms in the power sector while he also informed about possible investment in agriculture and Information Technology (IT) fields.

The US ambassador Donald Bloom lauded the government efforts for the economic betterment. The ambassador ensured the US support for the economic stability and development of the country.
