Kabul (September 07, 2018): US Defense Secretary, James Mattis has arrived in Afghanistan on surprise visit. Mattis is accompanied by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Joseph Dunford.
According to Afghan media, US defense secretary and chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff will meet the new commander of NATO troops, General Scott Miller in Afghanistan, where they will discuss progress on talks with the Taliban, despite deteriorating security and turmoil within the Afghan government.
US Defense Secretary will address the NATO and US troops at Town Hall. While, meetings with Afghan political leaders are also on the list.
