RAWALPINDI: A delegation from the US Afghanistan War Commission met Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.
The commission, co-chaired by Shamila N. Chaudhary and Colin F. Jackson, is reviewing the United States’ two-decade involvement in Afghanistan. Discussions included Pakistan’s support, regional security and the situation in Afghanistan.
Field Marshal Munir outlined Pakistan’s assessment of the conflict and the challenges the country faced, stressing that its regional experience should be considered in the commission’s review.
The delegation recognised Pakistan’s role and sacrifices during the conflict and commended its ongoing efforts to support regional peace and stability.
