US Expects ‘Strong Mutual Interests’ With EU Concerning Iran

Web Desk (May 21, 2018): The US and Europe expect for “a foundation to continue to work together” on addressing Iran’s nuclear program.

The United States said it hopes to use strong shared interests that have emerged with its European Union partners in recent months to move forward on addressing Iran’s nuclear program, missile development and role in regional conflicts.Iran said that it would join a meeting with diplomats from Britain, Germany, France, China, and Russia in Vienna on Friday to discuss next steps after the May 8 decision by US President Donald Trump to exit the 2015 nuclear accord.It said Washington would not participate in the meeting of the joint commission set up by the six world powers, Iran and the European Union to handle any complaints about the deal’s implementation.
