Washington (June 28, 2018): United States has started contacting allies to close stop buying Iranian oil.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo had a telephonic conversation with Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj on this matter, while the US Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley also advised Modi and Sushma Swaraj to stop their trade with Iran.
US demanded India to stop their imports of crude oil and oil products from Iran by November 4.
US Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Healey has met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj and other officials in New Delhi. In these meetings, she said that India must stop purchasing oil from Iran.
US has given deadline to Europe, China, Turkey and India till November 4 to stop purchasing oil from Iran. Otherwise, sanctions will be made against other countries.
