US Senate votes to extend sanctions against Iran

WASHINGTON: After United States House of Representatives, Senate unanimously approved on Thursday a 10-year extension of tough economic sanctions against Iran.

The bill is forwarded to President Barack Obama. According to the details, US House of representatives had approved a bill to extend economic sanctions against Iran over violation of nuclear accord.

President Barack Obama had indicated that he would sign the bill, if Senate approved sanctions against Iran.

While, Iran’s spiritual leader Ali Khamenei termed the bill as violation of the nuclear accord and unjustified. He said that Iran will give reaction against the new sanctions.
