WASHINGTON: United States Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard G. Olson retired from his services on Tuesday.
US Secretary of State John Kerry, on the behalf of entire State Department congratulated Olson on his retirement after three decades of dedicated services to the country.
John Kerry said in a press statement that Olson was quite simply one of our most distinguished diplomats, a career member of the senior Foreign Services who has been on the forefront of our work in the Middle East, Africa, Afghanistan and Pakistan. He played an invaluable role in consolidating the progress Afghanistan had made over the past 15 years.
