WASHINGTON: United States has urged Pakistan to ensured the transparency of the recent elections.
White House spokesperson Karen Jean-Pierre said that US President Joe Biden is aware of the elections in Pakistan and knows that millions of Pakistanis, including women and youth, have come out to vote in the Pakistani elections.
Karen Jean-Pierre said that in private and public communications, the Pakistani government and politicians have made it clear that respecting public wishes and ensuring transparency in the electoral process is very important and necessary.
She said that America is proud to stand with like-minded democracies. The opinion of Pakistani people needs to be respected.
US State Department Spokesman Matthew Miller said that the US has demanded an investigation into the allegations on the elections in Pakistan.
While giving a press briefing in Washington, Matthew Miller said that such allegations should be fully investigated not only in Pakistan but everywhere in the world, that is why he will continue to demand investigation of the allegations. He said that he is looking forward to working with the government after it is formed. The coalition government is an internal matter of Pakistan
