Veteran Indian Actor Pankaj Dheer passes away at 68

WEB DESK: Indian actor Pankaj Dheer has passed away at the age of 68 after a prolonged battle with illness.

Renowned for his iconic role in B.R. Chopra’s 1988 television epic Mahabharat, Dheer had been battling cancer for several years. His contribution to Indian television made him a household name during the 80s and 90s.

Throughout his career, Dheer was celebrated for his performances in popular shows such as The Great Maratha, Yug, and Badho Bahu. In addition to his television work, he appeared in several Bollywood films, making notable appearances in hits like Sadak, Soldier, and Baadshah.

He is survived by his son, Nikitin Dheer, who is also a well-known actor, having starred in films like Chennai Express, Jodhaa Akbar, and Sooryavanshi. Nikitin is married to television actress Kratika Sengar.

His last on-screen appearance was in the TV series Dhruv Tara, Samay Sadi Se Pare (2024). Prior to that, he featured in the 2019 web series Poison.
