Vicky Kaushal’s film ‘Chhawa’ caused riots in India.

WEB DESK: Indian actor Vicky Kaushal’s recently released film ‘Chhawa’, which is centered around the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, has reportedly fueled anti-Muslim sentiments in India, leading to riots.

According to the media reports, a protest was held today in Nagpur demanding the demolition of Aurangzeb’s tomb, resulting in riots in the area. This situation forced Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to appeal for maintaining peace and order, despite being an advocate for the demand himself.

In the Mahal area of Nagpur, a clash erupted between two groups when the right-wing group ‘Vishwa Hindu Parishad’ organized a protest to demand the demolition of Aurangzeb’s tomb, leading to heightened tensions in the area.

Subsequently, both sides began throwing stones at each other, and several vehicles, including fire brigade trucks, were set on fire.

The fire department claimed that several firefighters were injured during the incident. The riots were brought under control after police intervention.
