ISLAMABAD:Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry has said that Pakistan is global bulwark in the fight against against Terrorism.
The country detected hundreds of terrorism linked social media accounts, the Minister added.
He apprised that United Nations, the United States and the United Kingdom (UK) have banned ISKP and TTP while US and UK listed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) as a terrorist organization.
He informed that TTP, ISKP, BLA & Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) have been using social media to spread propaganda and recruiting youth.
He added that as many as 2,417 terrorism related complaints currently under review by social media platforms.
He urged social media platforms must use AI to swiftly remove terrorist content adding that propaganda on terrorism is punishable under PECA.
He warned that offenders will face prosecution over such crimes.
He apprised that the government calls on social media companies to share user date for counter terrorism efforts.
For the purpose, he informed that Pakistan has invited foreign social media firms to establish their offices in the country.
