Karachi: Chief of Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman has declared the budget for financial year 2024-2025 as an enemy of masses.
Holding a presser in Karachi today, JI chief Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman criticized the federal government and its budget.
Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman said that taxes were imposed on electricity bills, adding that they cut taxes from private companies employees.
The JI chief said that the government imposes taxes on sugar, flour, lentils adding that they forcefully received taxes which we totally disagreed with it.
He said that in the present budget the government has attacked on the salaried class.
In the past year salaried class paid Rs 368 billions on the other hand the feudal lords only paid Rs four billion, he added.
He said that Karachi needs projects, Karachi needs K IV but no new project was inlcluded in the Sindh development budget.
He said that the government without seeing the conditions of the hospital, has imposed taxes on kits of diagnostic and angiography.
He said that the government once again is sending Pakistan into economic quagmire.
It is clear in the world wherever the International Monetary Fund (IMF) goes that nation destroys instead of getting growth.
He said that the Punjab government fixed the price of wheat and later they denied it and then they said we will not take it and later they said we will provide subsidy but later they also retracted this statement.
Now, the situation is that no formers have been included in providing subsidy except only few thousand farmers, he apprised.
He said that in the backing of the government mafia will take advantage of the wheat crisis and they will import the wheat again and the wheat which were earlier imported where is the report of it? he questioned.
He apprised that when we are begged for Rs one billion then the mafia import the wheat despite its presence in the country.
The JI ameer in his presser touched upon Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif speech over completion of his 100 days, budget, inflation and including all important problems faced by the nation.
He said that the PM has lost his credibility in the eyes of the people of the country
He saind that feudral lords and capitalists created by the English rulers are still sitting in the parliament.He asked the PM tell the nation what tax he has imposed on feudal lords and capitalists.
He said that the government has made the budget on dictation of the IMF.
Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman said that Islam is the international movement and all the creations are worshipers of the God Almighty.
