We will take Karachi rights from federal government: CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah

Karachi: Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah has said that we will take rights of Karachi from the federation.

Addressing on occasion of the inauguration ceremony of the new Hub canal water project, the CM Sindh said that the canal has capacity of providing 130 MGD water to Karachi.

Murad Ali Shah said that the project is a gift to Karachi on the auspicious occasion of the Independence day.

He apprised that the restoration of the old canal will also be completed by December this year and resultantly Karachi will get 550 MGD water through which water scarcity problem will be minimized.

He further informed that a treatment plant of a capacity 35 MGD will also be complete till September while this water will given to industries so that drinking water could be saved.

He apprised that the capacity of Mangophir Pumping station 150 MGD is being restored adding the work is being speed up by shutting the old canal 21.8 Km section.

Murad Ali Shah said that the restoration of filtration plant is also underway with this project we were trying to decrease difficulties of the people of Karachi.

He added that we were working with World Bank for water projects in Karachi and the province.

Talking about previous government without naming Imran Khan, he said that the former ruler had announced Rs 11000 billion for Karachi but he didn’t provide even Rs 11.
