West Indies beat Pakistan by 4 wickets in first ODI

GUYANA: West Indies beaten Pakistan by four wickets in first One-day International of the three matches series at Providence Stadium in Guyana.   

It is pertinent to mention here that West Indies pull off their highest ODI chase, by scoring 309 runs with an over to spare against Pakistan today. The Caribbean chased the given target on six wicket in 49 overs.

Jason Mohammed played a vital role in Caribbean’s victory. He scored 91 runs with three sixes and 11 fours on 58 balls. Jason Mohammed was honored with ‘Man of the Match’. While opener Evin Lewis went to pavilion on 47 and Kieran Powell scored 61 runs in the match.

On the other hand, Mohammad Amir and Shadab Khan took two wickets each. While Mohammad Hafeez and Wahab Riaz grabbed one wicket each in the match.

Earlier, Pakistan has given a mammoth total of 308 runs after losing 5 wickets  to West Indies in the first ODI. The Caribbean team had won the toss and elected to field first. Playing fist the green shirts player played freely and succeeded to get a handsome total of 308 runs in 50 over.

All-rounder Muhammad Hafeez remained the highest scorer of the green team as he scored 88 runs whereas Ahmad Shahzad, Shoaib Malik, Kamran Akmal scored 67, 53 and 47 runs respectively. While Baber Azam smashed 13 runs.

Shadab Khan gave debut in the match while Amir  returned to the team after he had given rest in T-20 series. While the Maroon team bowler AR Nurse took four wickets and Holder got one wicket.
