Westerly waves all set to enter Karachi from Jan 22 to bring chilling cold

Karachi: A powerful system of westerly waves is all set to enter Karachi with another wave of chilling cold.

According to meteorological department predicts it is likely that the metropolitan city temperature will turn again single digit from January 12.

In the view of speedy winds an increase intense cold is expected.

Weather likely to remain cold and dry in Karachi during the the next 24 hours. The lowest temperature recorded 12 degree centigrade.

Whereas north easterly waves were blowing at a speed of 8 km per hour in the city while the metropolis has humidity of 53.

On the other hand, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, while very cold and cloudy in hilly areas during the next twelve hours.

Rain and snow is likely in northwestern Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, Islamabad, Pothohar region, Kashmir, Murree and Galliyat.

Moderate to dense fog in patches is likely to persist in most districts of Punjab, upper Sindh and plain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during morning and night hours.

Temperature of major cities recorded this morning:

Islamabad six degree centigrade, Lahore eleven, Karachi twelve, Peshawar nine, Quetta and Gilgit one,  Murree zero and Muzafarabad five  degree centigrade.    

According to weather forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, very cold and partly cloudy weather with chances of rain and snow is expected in Srinagar, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian and Baramulla while cold and partly cloudy weather in Jammu.

Srinagar, Pulwama and Anantnag minus-two degree centigrade, Jammu nine, Leh minus seventeen, Shopian minus-one and Baramula two degree centigrade.
