WhatsApp prepares “Liquid Glass” chat interface redesign

WEB DESK; WhatsApp is set to undergo a significant visual transformation with the introduction of a new “Liquid Glass” design concept aimed at refreshing the app’s appearance and enhancing user experience.

According to insights from WABetaInfo, the upcoming update will overhaul essential elements of the chat interface, including the message input area and the top navigation bar within conversations.

One of the most prominent changes involves the chat input section, which will transition from a static layout to a floating, translucent design. This “Liquid Glass” style will feature a frosted-glass effect that dynamically adapts to the background, creating a layered and contemporary aesthetic.

Additionally, the top navigation bar within chats will be revamped with a transparent appearance and smooth fading effects, allowing the chat wallpaper and content to subtly peek through. Interactive features like the “jump to latest message” button are also expected to adopt this glass-like visual style.

Current reports indicate that this new interface has not yet been rolled out to beta testers, although it is being tested internally within WhatsApp.

The redesign aligns with a broader shift towards a more modern visual language inspired by Apple’s recent “Liquid Glass” theme introduced in newer iOS versions.

Early signs of WhatsApp’s interface changes began emerging in late 2025 through beta updates, where slight visual tweaks were observed.

Meta Platforms is gradually implementing these changes, but no official timeline has been announced for the full public rollout.
