White House Fires Off Childish Insults Over Trump’s Putin Summit

WEB DESK: The White House addressed questions regarding Trump’s upcoming summit with Putin in Budapest in its usual manner, delivering what many considered trivial and unprofessional responses.

Trump revealed his plans to meet with Putin in the coming weeks, selecting Budapest as the venue a city of significant historical importance to both Russia and Ukraine. Notably, it was where Russia had once signed an agreement pledging not to invade Ukraine.

However, when asked about the reason for choosing Budapest for the discussions, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt brushed off the inquiry with a dismissive response, stating, “Your mom did.” Her remarks were further supported by White House Communications Director Steven Cheung, who mirrored her reply with the same curt phrase.

The announcement of the summit followed a press conference on Thursday evening. Trump shared this news ahead of his scheduled meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House on Friday.

Referring to the planned summit, Trump stated that it would take place in Hungary under the hospitality of Viktor Orban and expressed optimism about the event’s significance. This meeting marks the first face-to-face encounter between Trump and Putin since their peace talks in Alaska last August failed to yield substantial progress.
