Lahore: The winter vacation of government and private schools across Punjab for junior classes such as play, nursery and prep classes has been extended till January 19 owing to outbreak of pneumonia due to the extreme cold weather in the province.
The Department of school education Punjab has issued notification in this regard.
As per the notification, the winter vacations of all private and government schools for the junior classes including play group, nursery and prep classes have extended till January 19.
On the other hand, the wearing of masks has been declared mandatory for upper classes.
Besides that no examinations will be conducted till January 19.
According to notification, assembly and outdoor activities will be suspended till January 31 in all the schools across Punjab.
The government announced additional holidays for young learners as Met Office predicted cold and dry weather across Punjab and fog is expected to prevail in the region.
Earlier, Punjab government announced change in schools’ timings and now classes are starting at 9:30 am from January 10 till January 22.
