Lahore: The one sided contest is likely National Assembly (NA) seat NA-119 between Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief organizer Maryam Nawaz and an independent candidate belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Shahzad Farooq.
The NA-119 Lahore-III constituency was previously NA-127 Lahore-V before new delimitations notified in November last year in the light of the 2023 digital census data.
In 2018 elections, PML-N’s candidate Ali Pervaiz won election from NA-127 Lahore-V by securing 113,265 votes. Jamsheed Iqbal candidate of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) stood second by security 66,818 votes in the polls.
This year, PML-N field its Senior Vice-President and Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz from the constituency.
As the PML-N has run a huge election campaign as its leaders lifetime supermo Nawaz Sharif his daughter Maryam Nawaz, former premier Shahbaz Sharif, ex-chief minister Hamza Shahbaz have led the campaign.
