Woman Martyred as India Resorts to Unprovoked Firing, Shelling Again

MUZAFFARABAD: Indian forces on Monday afternoon once again resorted to unprovoked firing and repetitive shelling along Line of Control (LoC), martyring one innocent female civilian and injuring seven others in Muzaffarabad.

Indian firing also damaged several residences, forcing several people to flee their homes, especially those of Rawalakot.

In response to the unprovoked actions targetted at Pakistan’s civilian areas, Pakistani Army retaliated to the fullest.

The incident took place shortly after Foreign Office of Pakistan had summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner Gaurav Ahluwalia and also lodged protest with India over unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian occupation forces along the Line of Control (LoC).

In this regard, FO spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal said that the Indian forces were continuously involved in targeting civilian populated areas of Pakistan that too with heavy weaponry.

“Deliberate targeting of civilian populated areas is indeed deplorable and contrary to human dignity, international human rights and humanitarian laws”, Dr Faisal affirmed.

He added that the ceasefire violations by India are a threat to regional peace and security and may lead to a strategic miscalculation, urging India to respect the 2003 ceasefire arrangement.
