Yasmin Rashid plans to challenge election tribunal’s decision on NA-130 in court

LAHORE: PTI leader Dr. Yasmin Rashid has decided to challenge the election tribunal’s verdict on NA-130 in court. Sources reveal that she consulted extensively with her legal team while in jail, leading to the formulation of a future legal strategy and a decision to contest the tribunal’s ruling.

Dr. Yasmin Rashid has directed her lawyer, Rana Mudassar Umar, to swiftly proceed with filing the case. Confirming the instructions, Umar stated that steps are already underway to ensure immediate legal action. A formal request has been made to secure a certified copy of the tribunal’s decision, which will be pivotal in initiating the petition in the appropriate court.

Rana Mudassar Umar criticized the election tribunal for dismissing Dr. Yasmin Rashid’s petition on technical grounds, alleging that critical facts of the case were not properly evaluated. He emphasized that the legal challenge aims to protect her rights and pursue justice.

Earlier, the Lahore election tribunal had declared Dr. Yasmin Rashid’s petition against Nawaz Sharif as non-maintainable.
