Karachi (January 26,2018): In a report submitted to the Punjab cabinet’s sub-committee on Friday, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has concluded that Imran Ali, the accused in 7-year-old Zainab’s murder case, does not have any bank account registered on his name.
The report was reviewed in a meeting attended by Additional Chief Secretary of Interior Azam Suleman, Special Branch and other high officials.
The SBP report states that the nation is being misled through a fake list of suspect’s bank accounts.To further clarify the matter, the Punjab government will hold a press conference today. A representative of the central bank will also be available via video link during the presser.
Earlier on Thursday, the Punjab government also opened an investigation into whether suspect arrested in the slaying of minor girls in Kasur was linked to an international child-porn ring.
A notification issued by the Punjab Home Department added two members to the existing JIT investigating the case, in light of new revelations made by senior anchorperson Shahid Masood.Masood, in his show that aired late Wednesday night, alleged that Zainab’s suspected rapist and murderer was a member of an international pornography ring. He further stated that the suspect had 37 foreign currency bank accounts.
He also claimed that the accused had links with a federal minister and prominent personality in the country.
