Zardari Jumps Into King Maker Race Seeking MQM Help

Islamabad (August 01, 2018): Following the Jahangir Tareen role as kingmaker for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) and stormy action to get independent in his party fold, another master of reconciliation and kingmaker co-chairman PPP jumped into the race inviting MQM to join the grand opposition in the national assembly.

According to sources, Asif Ali Zardari contacted MQM leadership and invited them to join grand opposition alliance in the lower house of the parliament.

He woos the MQM saying that if MQM-Pakistan supports the grand opposition in centre, PPP will give them share in Sindh government.

Sources said, on the other hand, MQM has not given the final reply to PTI over its support in the centre, therefore Zardari offer could be under consideration. Meanwhile, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has turned down an invitation to attend an all-party conference being hosted by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in Islamabad.

The decision came shortly after former Sindh governor and PML-N leader Mohammad Zubair spoke to Faisal Sabzwari and invited his party to attend the APC.

The APC is expected to chalk out a strategy to hold protests against alleged election rigging.

Earlier, Pakistan People’s Party offered Muttahida Qaumi Movement to join them as partner in Sindh Government once again and abandon Imran Khan’s offer to join federal government.According to sources, PPP leadership asked MQM-Pakistan leadership to decide to make choice between the federal and Sindh cabinet. They have been conveyed a clear message to the MQM leadership that the latter would not be welcomed to the Sindh cabinet if it decides to join the PTI government in the center too.

Sources told further that it was not possible that the MQM can become part of both the federal and provincial governments.

“MQM will have to chose one of them,” said a source.dontmindMQM has won 16 Sindh Assembly seats in the elections held on July 25 and six National National Assembly seats.

It has also been invited by the PTI to join the central government but the party has yet to make any decision.
