Zardari Opposes Govt’s Decision To Boycott OIC Meeting

ISLAMABAD: Co-chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari on Friday opposed federal government’s decision to boycott Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) meeting in Abu Dhabi.

According to details, a joint parliamentary session was held under the presidency of Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser amid tensions between Pakistan and India.

The PPP co-chairman in his address said, “Pakistan has a long-standing relationship with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and we should not forget our friends in these hard times.”

“We should have to attend the meeting to present our viewpoint,” he added.

“I applaud PAF’s fighter pilot who defended air limits of the country,” he added.

“The PPP also welcomes government’s stance to release Indian pilot Abhi Nandan as a gesture of peace,” added Zardari.

“India is trying to become a superpower, it was Modi’s misadventure which has been misfired” he further added.

“We should strengthen our economy and defence amid threats from India,” concluded Zardari.
