SWAT: At least 16 people lost their lives and seven others were injured in a tragic road accident on the Swat Expressway on Monday after a passenger van collided with a bus,
According to motorway police officials.The fatal crash occurred near Peshawar on the Swat Expressway. Rescue teams and motorway police rushed to the scene shortly after the incident.
Officials said the bodies of the deceased and the injured were shifted to Mardan Medical Complex, where medical treatment and legal procedures are underway.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the identities of the victims.
According to preliminary findings, the accident reportedly occurred due to the negligence of the van driver, a motorway police spokesperson said.
In a separate incident earlier, seven people including three women and two children were killed in a collision between two luxury vehicles near Yakmach in Dalbandin.
Police said three others sustained injuries in the crash, while rescue personnel transferred the victims to a nearby hospital for treatment and further formalities.
