KARACHI: A total of 207 people have lost their lives in road accidents across Karachi in 2025, according to a report by rescue authorities.
The statistics, which cover the period from January 1 to March 24, show that the fatalities include 185 men, 11 women, 2 young girls, and 9 children. Additionally, over 900 people have been injured, including more than 100 women.
The New Year has seen a significant rise in road accidents in Karachi. In 2024, nearly 9,000 traffic accidents were reported in the city. According to rescue services, 771 people lost their lives, while 8,174 others were injured in nearly 9,000 road accidents throughout the year.

January: 94 deaths, 734 injuries
February: 57 deaths, 720 injuries
March: 49 deaths, 521 injuries
April: 64 deaths, 490 injuries
May: 48 deaths, 464 injuries
June: 73 deaths, 649 injuries
July: 35 deaths, 627 injuries
August: 45 deaths, 521 injuries
September: 70 deaths, 781 injuries
October: 66 deaths, 980 injuries
November: 90 deaths, 989 injuries
December (to date): 80 deaths, 700 injuries
The rise in road accidents in Karachi highlights the urgent need for better road safety measures in the city.
