Monsoon Currents Penetrating Southern Parts of Country: Met

Web Desk (July 20, 2017): The Pakistan Meteorological Department on Thursday said monsoon currents are penetrating southern parts of the country.

A shallow westerly wave is affecting central and upper parts of the country and likely to persist during the next few days.

Seasonal low lies over north Balochistan and strong monsoon currents are likely to penetrate upper parts of the country on Friday, the PMD said.

Rain-thunderstorm (with isolated heavy falls) is expected at scattered places in Sindh, eastern Balochistan (Zhob, Kalat, Sibbi, Naseerabad divisions) and south Punjab (Bahawalpur, Multan, Sahiwal, D.G.Khan divisions). Rain-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, FATA, upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Faisalabad divisions), Islamabad, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan in the next 24 hours.Past weather
