Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) heard the appeals of founding chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan and vice-chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi against punishments in the cipher case today.
A divisional bench comprising Chief Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Gul Hassan Aurangzeb heard the appeals against the sentences in the cipher case.
Counsels of Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood Qureshi Barrister Salman Safdar and Barrister Ali Zafar appeared before the court.
On the other hand, the Federal Investigation Officer (FIA) special prosecutors justice (retd) Hamid Ali Shah and Zulfiqar Abbass Naqvi were also present in the court.
Barrister Salman Safdar contented the arguments while he apprised the court that he will give arguments on appeals of the ciphers case first.
The FIA sought time for giving arguments in the case while justice (retd) Hamid Ali Shah informed the court that he hired today and insisted some time for giving arguments in the case.
The FIA prosecutor apprised the court that paper books are not prepared yet. To which Salman Safdar said that the case was fixed for today and the court has clarified on the last hearing.
The hearing of the case adjourned till March 11. The arguments will continue in the next hearing.
