ISLAMABAD: Six newly appointed permanent judges and one acting judge took the oath of office in the Supreme Court. Chief Justice Yahya Afridi administered the oath to the newly appointed judges.
New appointments in Supreme Court increased the number of judges. Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi administered the oath of office to 6 permanent judges and one acting judge.
Six permanent justices who took oath include Justice Umer Farooq, Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim, Justice Shakeel Ahmed, Justice Shafi Siqqidui, Justice Salahuddin Panhwar and Justice Hashim Kakar.
Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb has also taken the oath as an acting judge of the Supreme Court. Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi administered the oath of office to Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb as an acting judge.
For the first time, the oath-taking ceremony was held in the Supreme Court’s lawn.
