KARACHI: Pakistan’s Noor Zaman and Hamza Khan both secured their spots in the quarterfinals of the inaugural U23 World Squash Championship at Creek Club.
Second-seed Noor Zaman delivered a dominant performance, easily defeating unseeded Jakub Pytlowany from Poland with scores of 11-4, 11-5, 11-3. Hamza Khan followed suit, overpowering England’s unseeded Will Salter 11-5, 11-6, 11-5 in his second-round match.
Noor is set to face France’s Melvil Scianimanico in the quarterfinals, while Hamza will take on Malaysia’s 3/4 seed Ameeshenraj Chandaran.
Meanwhile, top-seed Ibrahim Elkabbani of Egypt will meet Rowan Damming, and Egypt’s Kareem Eltorkey will go head-to-head with David Bernet in the quarterfinals.
