LHC Issues Revised Seniority List Following Justice Baqar Najafi’s Elevation to SC

LAHORE: After the elevation of Justice Ali Baqar Najafi to the Supreme Court, the Lahore High Court has released a new seniority list of judges.

The total number of judges in the court has decreased to 44, and the number of vacant seats has now increased to 16. In the updated seniority list, Chief Justice Aalia Neelum retains her top position while Justice Shujaat Ali Khan ranks second position. Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh and Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan are now ranked at the fourth position. Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza at fifth, Justice Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi at sixth and Justice Faisal Zaman Khan holds seventh. Justice Masood Abid Naqvi ranked 8th, Justice Shahid Karim 9th, Justice Mirza Waqas Rauf 10th, and Justice Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal at 11th position. 

Justice Shahram Sarwar Ch has moved to 12th, Justice Sajid Mehmood Sethi 13th and Justice Asjad Javed Gharal ranked 14th position. 

Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh ranked 15th, Justice Jawad Hassan 16th, Justice Muzammil Akhtar Shabbir 17th, Justice Farooq Haider 18th and Justice Muhammad Waheed Khan ranks 19th in seniority list. 

Justice Rasaal Hassan Syed placed at 20th, Justice Asim Hafeez 21st, Justice Ahmad Nadeem Arshad the 23rd spot, Justice Muhammad Nadeem Tariq at 24th, Justice Muhammad Amjad Rafiq 25th and Justice Abid Hussain Chattha 26th. 

Justice Anwar Hussain ranks 27th, Justice Ali Zia Bajwa 28th, Justice Sultan Tanvir Ahmad 29th, Justice M Raza Qureshi 30th, and Justice Raheel Kamran Sheikh ranks 31st position in seniority list.
