ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met with Afghanistan’s Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi in Beijing, China.
According to the spokesperson of Foreign Office, both Ishaq Dar and Amir Khan Muttaqi welcomed the positive progress in bilateral relations, recognizing improvements in diplomatic ties, trade, and transit.
The spokesperson further stated that, the two leaders agreed to enhance cooperation in trade, transit, connectivity, and security, and to work together to advance mutual interests.

Prior to this, Ishaq Dar also met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, during which they discussed the situation in South Asia and bilateral relations.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated that, China and Pakistan are brothers and strategic partner, he expressed the desire to elevate bilateral relations to new heights. He reaffirmed China’s continued support for Pakistan’s sovereignty and development journey.
Both foreign ministers expressed satisfaction with the bilateral relationship and agreed to enhance cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, agriculture, and industry.
They also expressed satisfaction with the progress of CPEC Phase Two and discussed new opportunities for third-party participation in CPEC.
The foreign ministers agreed to continue close ties and cooperation, including joint efforts for regional development, peace, and stability.
