WASHINGTON: In the U.S. state of Minnesota, former State House Democrat Speaker Melissa Hartman and her husband were killed in a gun attack.
According to American media, Melissa Hartman and her husband were murdered inside their home in Minneapolis after intruders broke in.
Reports also indicate that Minnesota State Senator John Hoffmann and his wife were injured in another gun attack.
Both incidents occurred within an hour of each other.
U.S. security officials stated that the attacker fled after exchanging gunfire with the police, and the suspect was dressed in police uniform.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz mentioned that there are political motives behind the murders of Melissa and her husband, and further investigations have been initiated regarding the case.
